About WildInvest

Local Wisdom. Global Inspiration.

Our Mission

WildInvest exists to support communities living in harmony with the planet as a way of life. By supporting these communities, WildInvest protects endangered species, the ecosystems they depend on, and the local practices that champion coexistence.

Protect & Preserve

We work to safeguard endangered species, the habitats that sustain them, and the communities living in balance with the natural world around them.

Find & Champion

We travel to find local communities and conservationists doing extraordinary work and document their practices so they can be recognised and supported.

Educate

We advance public understanding of endangered species, natural ecosystems, and the communities whose way of life is in harmony with the planet.

Fund & Tell the Story

We give grants and donations directly to local conservation projects and sustainable communities, and we produce media that carries their stories to a wider public.

Our Story

How WildInvest Began

Diana van de Kamp founded WildInvest in 1997. She had always been passionate about saving wildlife and giving back to nature. Her driving conviction was to depart this planet knowing she had done her part to conserve biodiversity and the ecosystems that support all life, great and small. It was this conviction that led her to found WildInvest.

The premise was straightforward. The most important conservation work in the world was being done by remarkable individuals, and almost nobody knew their names. The solution was not just to fund them but to introduce them. WildInvest built a membership community of donors united by genuine curiosity and care. Each year, conservation leaders working on the ground to pull species back from the brink travelled to London and New York to tell their stories in person. The Pygmy Hippopotamus of Liberia. The Black-faced Lion Tamarin of Brazil. The Iberian Lynx of Portugal. Animals most members had never heard of, brought to life by the people dedicating their lives to saving them. Over fourteen years the charity funded thirteen projects across twelve countries.

WildInvest Today

In early 2026, Diana relaunched WildInvest with Celeste Allen, a next-generation conservation storyteller who aims to find sustainable communities and bring their practices to an expanded global audience through the power of media documentation. Today WildInvest champions not just species but the communities living alongside them: the land stewards, forest guardians, and farming communities whose practices sustain ecosystems. The belief that founded this charity has never wavered. The stories are just getting a bigger stage.

What We Do

Three Strands, One Purpose.

WildInvest operates across three interconnected strands: a field expedition strand, a documentation and awareness strand, and a direct impact strand. Together, they form a complete approach to conservation: find communities, document what communities know and raise their visibility worldwide, provide the funding that allows their practices to continue.

01

Finding Communities

At WildInvest we have a personal relationship with all of the communities we support. A member of the team has visited and spent time with each one. The communities WildInvest supports are found, not listed. Through field expeditions, where we are present in country to travel across landscapes, and follow word of mouth, our team can discover communities doing extraordinary work. Once found WildInvest is committed to staying with local communities and conservationists long enough to understand, not just observe their practices and way of life.

02

Documenting and Raising Awareness

Our goal is to put communities and conservationists living in harmony with the planet at the centre of the global sustainability conversation. WildInvest documents what it sees and shares it widely with the aim of reaching donors, policymakers, educators, and the broader public. At WildInvest, we think that seeing is believing.

03

Fundraising for Projects

The communities WildInvest visits and documents become projects WildInvest fundraises for. Where communities need direct material support, whether funding, resources, or capacity, WildInvest aims to provide it. We follow the community's lead, supporting rather than directing, because we believe that local knowledge should always guide the work.

Our Approach

We work with, not at.

WildInvest was founded on the belief that local knowledge is the most valuable form of knowledge. For conservation to be successful, and for change to last, local communities must be at the centre of the work.

We do not arrive with solutions. We arrive with a genuine desire to listen, understand, document, and support. Currently, the media content we produce is created in partnership with PathosPlanet Productions, a production company dedicated to telling the stories of communities living in harmony with the planet. Together, the two organisations form a complete model: find, document, share, and fund.

This means our timelines are longer, and our relationships are deeper. We think that is exactly as it should be.

WildInvest supports the Sustainable Development Goals.
